Having difficulty with the web site? Below are the common questions:
Even though you joined the SSC, paid your membership dues by check and received the eNewsletter, there is another step in order to log onto to the web site. You have to “Join” again via the web site in order to start the process to activate your online membership. Good news, you don’t have to pay your dues again!
Here’s how the process works:
- After you have joined and paid your membership fee, go to the Member Application page of the SSC web site – http://www.seacoastskiclub.net
- Select the Membership type (Family or Individual), then select Next
- Fill out the requested information and create an account password
- Submit the Member Application
- The web site then notifies SSC staff of your request, once your payment is confirmed, SSC will allow you access to the web site. You will receive an email from SSC when the process completes within 48 hours./li>
- Afterward you may log on to the site with your email address and password
You do not have to log on to see the Big Trip descriptions. It is public information. Paid members have active accounts which are their email address and with a selected password.
Online membership allow members to receive email updates about all the SSC sponsored activities. Emails via the website protect club members from spam and unintentional viruses from other members of the club. Online membership also gives you access to view the Stuff for Members Only
Yes. Complete a new member application as outlined under the new member application tab, select manual as the preferred payment method, then confirm your information as directed. You will receive a confirmation email that you are registered, but need to send a check. You can ignore this last step. This will place your email address on our mailing list and you will receive information about club sponsored activities. You will not have permissions to view our “Stuff for Members Only” section of the website. Remember, to attend any club sponsored trip, you must be a current member in good standing and with your club dues paid in full.
You can pay for your membership by credit card but not for a trip. We try to keep the trip costs down and to avoid credit card processing fees, we will only accept check payments for trips.
No. Please contact the trip leader for availability of the ‘no air option’ as soon as possible, within 3 months after the trip goes on sale. Our Board and Trip leaders believe that you love our trips because we do all the planning for you. This includes airfare. We plan trips many months in advance and so make assumptions about the number of people we have to get the best airfare. We understand that you sometimes would like to make your own arrangements and we are fine with that as long as you request this option with your trip leader within three months of the trip going on sale. SSC trips do not include the option for air deviations from the group itinerary.
Our trips default to a double room with the “per person double occupancy” (“PPDO”) room rates. Unless you and a potential roommate sign up (or contact the trip leader) together the trip leader will place you with another single person of the same sex.
Go to the website and click on the “Club policies, registration and refund” tab. Read the Cancellation and Refund Policy, then fill out the first section of the Refund Request form and email it to the Refund Coordinator (not the Trip Leader) whose email address is refund@seacoastskiclub.net
A processing fee of $25 per person is deducted from all refunds regardless of the reason for cancellation. Other non-recoverable costs may be deducted depending on when the written notice of cancellation was received and if a replacement is found. See the Cancellation and Refund Policy under the “Policies” section of the website for more detailed information.
Typically, refund processing takes 2-3 weeks. However, if written notice of cancellation is received 180 days or less for Big Trips or 60 days or less for Mid-week/Weekend trips (see Cancellation and Refund Policy),a replacement must be found and payment received before a refund can be authorized. This can add weeks to the processing time and is not guaranteed.
All trip payments must be made by check. We continue to consider adding other forms of payment but they are not available at this time due to additional cost and systems limitations. Certain club events can be registered and paid for online with a single credit card payment as advertised.
Memberships run from October1-September 31 of each year. Click on the Membership Renewal tab on the website for instructions. Be sure to review your profile to make sure your contact information is correct (mobile phone # and email address).
Effective May 7, 2025, travelers will need to present a state-issued driver’s license or identification card with Real ID accreditation to pass through airport security within the U.S. Those without a Real ID or an approved alternative will be denied entry through TSA checkpoints.
Effective immediately, all travel to the UK requires the travelers to follow the Electronic Travel Authorization process found on the official https://www.gov.uk/ website

Currently, the fee is 10 pounds. You can apply online or download an app (recommended)
There will be new rules for entering into European countries in the year 2025. The Entry/Exit System (EES) System for registering non-EU nationals traveling for a short stay in 29 European countries. THIS IS NOT IN EFFECT YET (02/04/2025) BUT WE WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR AND ADVISE travelers! Six months after EES has begun, you must apply for travel authorization or ETIAS.
The fee is reported as 7 Euro however, if you are over the age of 70 it is free.
The Entry/Exit System (EES) is an automated IT system for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay, each time they cross the external borders of any of the following European countries using the system:
You need to provide your personal data each time you reach the external borders of the European countries using the EES. If you refuse to provide your biometric data (facial image or fingerprint), you will be denied entry into the territory of the European countries using the EES.
The EES collects, records and stores:
- data listed in your travel document(s) (e.g. full name, date of birth, etc.)-
- date and place of each entry and exit
- facial image and fingerprints (called ‘biometric data’)
- whether you were refused entry.
